Sit, Huxley, Sit...

Huxley and I had our first day at Canine Good Citizen class today. We will be attending for the next seek Saturday afternoons. Although he is still very much a pup, he is very smart and responding well to commands and learning so much already. We made some new friends and one frienemy...One little guy decided that since Hux hadn't already been in the class last year he was NOT a part of the pack. It was too funny, but they worked it out (meaning Hux ignored him and the other pup learned to mind his own). It was a good experience.

Happy Birthday, Devin!

Devin arrived in Kuwait on Sunday. He hasn't had a chance to call or get online, but hopefully he'll have a chance soon. In the event that he does, I wanted to wish him a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY! As for the picture...Well, I just thought everyone (especially the man of honor himself) would get a "kick" out of it. Enjoy!

How about something a little more upbeat...

I wanted to post this before, but I wanted to get that message out to Dev...

So, here are a few of us with Hux while we were on our mini-vacation in Ithaca. We took Huxley to Buttermilk Falls State Park. He had a grand time. It was like little puppy Heaven. Sticks and sniffing beyond his wildest dreams...AND for our end of the deal...He was beat by the time we left so we could go out for dinner.

Dev was pretty busy yesterday and I hadn't heard from him all day...Thought that a bit curious...

As it turns out, he had a wisdom tooth pulled today. (According to a barely comprehensible email I received this evening. He's all "doped up" and "Whoa," he's "goofballed." So, I guess recovery is going well...

Anyhow, he's restricted to quarters tomorrow, so maybe he'll check the blog. IF he can stay awake long enough. God bless him, hopefully they have all of the deployments out of their systems for a while and all of the wisdom teeth out of his mouth...We shall see...

We had a nice visit but unfortunately, I had to return Devin to Fort Dix yesterday. I'm sure he agrees with me in saying that it was wonderful to see everyone. I know he appreciates your support.
