A huge portion of the tree in our backyard snapped off too...right where we were sitting Fri night!! It landed in the fire pit so I guess we can just torch it..right Tim? This is way to early for winter!!
We were without power from 6pm tues to 3:30 yesterday afternoom. I melted snow to flush the toilets thank God it snowed! Karl, Annette, and Boola are in a rental Taurus somewhere in VA. Sara and I are going to SYR to pick their truck up at the airport. I called them and told them that even if they got a flight out there was no power here either. Karl and Rob stood in line in Miami for two hours to by a cup and half of gas for the generator. Another excellent adventure
Geez Dev, adventures abound here, aren't you glad you are cold and wet? I had forgotten that the Karl family were in FL for the hurricane.
That's not even taking into consideration the adventure of driving to Syracuse with U.J. (I hope Sara at least gets a lunch at the Dinosaur for her troubles.)
I'm going to count the downed tree limb as a good thing, I've been wanting more sun and less shade in that corner of the garden.

Damn, wrong tree! I'd like the other one to fall and take off the whole back end of the house...and crush the van...
